在新西兰生活的华人朋友，有很多人会安装卫星接收器来接收国内的电视节目，这里帮大家扫盲一下安装大锅天线的相关规定。
各个市政府都有自己的District Plan，这个东西里面都有说到什么东西有什么样的规格等等。以Manukau市政府为例，它的District plan里面说到了：大锅天线，不管你设在哪里，只要超过一定的宽度跟高度，就要申请Resource Consent，是否需要邻居的同意这个我不清楚，但是你一定要向市政府申请；如果你心存侥幸，也不是没有可能的，只要：
1. 你邻居不要告你(或者他永远不搬家)
2. 你觉得你运气好不会被市政府抽查到(每年都会抽查一些，请小心啊！)
3. 你就不要卖房子(这个问题的解决方法比较简单, 拆掉就好)
4. 你邻居申请building consent, 结果市政府的人来了“顺便”看到了你的大锅, 回去一查…
因此这里强调一下，如果想要在家里安装大锅天线，最保险的办法是自己打电话跟市政府相关官员约个时间, 然后去市政府询问清楚安装细则。
以下是Manukau City Council放在网络上的说明, 其他市政府的规定应该是一样要不然就是非常类似的：

1.设置在建筑物上的大锅
1.1如果大锅直径超过2公尺, 那么你需要Building consent
(就是要你证明你的房子, 不会因为放了个大锅因此受损, 可能需要结构工程师的鉴定)
1.2 建筑物本身都有法定允许之最高高度与宽度, 如果大锅或是天线在安装之后的高度, 或是横向超过法定允许的2公尺, 那么你需要Resource Consent
(什么叫做法定允许之最高高度与宽度呢？最高高度一般来说就是, 市政府人员会拿出你的建筑侧面图, 拿一个45度三角板, 放在你围墙上, 然后画一个45度线, 这个45度线, 就是法定允许之最高高度。)
1.3如果你的大锅直径不超过2公尺, 那么你不需要Resource Consent
1.4无论大锅本身是否需要consent, 支撑大锅的结构都要符合Building Act与Building Code。（所以建议你找结构工程师）
2. 设置在土地上的大锅
2.1任何在土地上设置的大锅, 无论大小, 都需要Resource Consent
2.2 如果你想要在土地上设置1个大锅, 支撑大锅的结构也需要Building Consent

Attaching to an existing building
Every satellite and / or telecommunication dish more than 2 metres wide and located on a building requires a building consent.
If the satellite dish or aerial is more than 2 metres above the maximum permitted height for the mains structure, and more than 2 metres in any horizontal direction you will also need a resource consent.
Dishes less than 2 metres in width (such as a SKY dish) do not require consents.
Whether consents are required or not, installation must meet the requirements of the Building Act and Building Code.
Installing a free standing satellite dish
All free standing satellite dishes, regardless of size, require a resource consent.
If you intend to install a free standing satellite dish you will also require a building consent for the support structure (e.g. the pole) that the dish is attached to.
